ACCESSIBLE GARDENS

Creating Space to Grow

We have a deep understanding that gardening is often times not always as simple as planting some seeds.  There are often barriers which hinder individuals from having their own garden.  Our biggest hope is to  break down barriers and give the gift of self sustainability and food justice.

Our mission is creating a network of helpers to help create garden spaces for community members experiencing hardships.  Anyone can be nominated for this service, simply tell us who and why your special person should be nominated.

Through our diverse network we create an individual design tailored to each nominees needs and with a team of dedicated volunteers we make that dream a reality.

Once the garden is in place we remain a source of support and knowledge for each individual to ensure the success of the hard work invested.

These projects are scheduled on a quarterly basis.  This is an amazing opportunity for small businesses looking for ways to give back to the communities which support them.  Bring your team of employees out for a fun day of service.  Our team will walk you through the process and handle all the arrangements.  All you have to do put it on your calendar and roll up your sleeves!

THE ACCESSIBLE GARDEN

In the Spring of 2019 FIFABQ installed our first Accessible Garden for our good friend Jorge! Since seeing the positive impact an accessible garden has made in his life - a new program was born! Accessible Gardens allow for those facing physical or psychological limitations the freedom to take back some of themselves.
The gardens allow for raised garden beds, vertical growing space, wheelchair accessibility, or something completely new. We strive to fit the needs of the gardener to allow a space that fits their current needs as well as identifying any potential changes due to symptom progression.

Accessible Garden Sponsors

Trifecta Coffee Company

Trifecta Coffee Company opened in April of 2015 after Thomas and Lee combined over 20 years of their experience in the coffee business. Since the beginning they have focused on creating a coffee shop that brings you great service, coffee, and baked goods.
Together they have built a team that makes everything in house. This is evident the minute you enter the shop. You are greeted with a wide selection of roasted coffee beans and a variety of fresh baked items. The drink menu utilizes fresh made syrups, sauces, spices and herbs.
Our staff is very passionate about making your visit as enjoyable as possible. Your drink will be made exactly like you want it. This passion is infectious as some of our staff were previous customers who loved what we do at Trifecta Coffee Company.

FIFABQ Community

One of our founders jump started the accessible garden funding this year with her own brithday fundraiser!

"For my birthday this year, I'm asking for donations to Food Is Free Albuquerque. I've chosen this nonprofit because this mission is literally my life.
Creating a food system which is one which leaves no one hungry. A system where each human being is free to eat in bounty and in beauty. A system that acknowledges fresh food is a human right.
No one should ever go hungry. There is enough. There is abundance and no one should be starving."

Every dollar donated goes directly to the mission.
