Community Compassion

About

A gracious donor made it possible for FIFABQ to purchase coats and other cold weather clothing items to be given out in conjunction with the ABQ Center for Peace & Justice.

Community members also brought a multitude of other items to share such as hygiene bags and even decks of playing cards. FIFABQ contracted with Street Food Institute who made posole, oatmeal, coffee, tea and had fresh fruit on hand. All food served was free with no limitations. There was enough food prepared to ensure that volunteers and guests alike could share a hot meal on a cold winter day.

Goal

Remove the dichotomy of
"I am the giver, you are the receiver".

Vision

"A compassionate gathering of the community to provide basic needs and a sense of community to those in need"
