We are pleased to announce that FIFABQ is expanding into Santa Fe in 2024, fulfilling a long-held dream. We starting in JUNE 2024 we are OFFICIALLY moving forward with this exciting new venture!

What to Expect in Santa Fe

01

What Days Will You Be In Santa Fe?

Beginning in June 2024, FIFABQ will be harvesting every other Saturday through September in Santa Fe. There will be 3-4 Harvests available on those days.

03

Will Food Be Donated within Santa Fe?

We prioritize donating high-quality produce to local food banks, kitchens, and other organizations fighting hunger through our Mindful Distribution program.

With typical harvests producing 300-500 pounds of produce, this distribution program helps us tackle the challenges of working with perishable foods, especially delicate stone fruits. Our team is always ready to think on their feet and move quickly to ensure the best quality produce for our community.

We believe in honoring the produce and our community organizations by donating only the appropriate poundage and quality of produce that an organization can handle.

If you are an organization who is distributing food within your community, please join our Mindful Distribution List to help keep produce local!

05

You Know...Food Isn't Free, Right?

Yes, growing food takes time, effort, and energy. Money has to be spent to install trees, shrubs, and grow crops. BUT it's too late to change our name to "Food Is Free, Sometimes, Under certain circumstances." We were founded on an idea:

Fresh Food is a Human Right, regardless of time, life circumstances, or financial status.

02

How Do I Book a Harvest?

Harvests in Santa Fe will be booked the same as a harvest in ABQ. Head over to our Booking Page and choose Santa Fe. There you will see what we have available!

If you are just outside Santa Fe, please contact us to see if we will be able to service your area.

04

How Can I Get Some of the Food Harvested?

Community giveaways are another way we share our bounty. Keep an eye on our social media for announcements, as availability depends on harvester capacity and the harvest itself. We typically harvest 300-500 pounds at a time.

06

Can I Volunteer for a Harvest?

Your participation is welcomed and appreciated.

FIFABQ is dedicated to diversity, equity, and inclusion, cherishing those who decide to be part of our mission. We eagerly foster a positive environment that embraces everyone.

Join our Volunteer List and keep an eye on your inbox for volunteer opportunities in your area!

Individuals and Organizations who donate food are protected from criminal and civil liability under the Good Samaritan Food Donation Act. Our work at Food is Free Albuquerque falls under the coverage of this legislation.
